Good navigation skills are essential to all those travelling in the hills and mountains. It is a skill that requires a great deal of practice and is something that you cannot learn from a book, you have to be doing it for yourself. We provide navigation courses that encompass all the techniques needed for you to travel safely and efficiently.

Our instructors are all at least Mountain Leader qualified and have years of experience, travelling not only in the UK but worldwide as well.  We are a registered provider able to offer navigation courses under the National Navigation Award Scheme. The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance, non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages. In completing this course you could achieve a personal performance award in navigation at the NNAS Bronze, Silver or Gold Levels, validated to a national standard. Check out the NNAS website for further details: http://www.nnas.org.uk

A2B can also provide a range of activity days for all ages, as a break from the normal curriculum, or in addition to:

  • Bush craft courses where you can build your own shelter, make a fire and learn about surviving in the outdoors
  • First Aid courses
  • Tailor made field trips for all Key Stages
  • Prefect courses

We offer a range of courses and can tailor any of our activities to suit your own personal requirements.  All our activity days emphasise environmental awareness and develop key skills such as team work (as well as personal independence), leadership and communication.  If you have any questions or would like to discuss any ideas you may have for an activity day for your students, please contact us with your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.
